
Shira Shafir, PhD, MPH is an impact consultant and the former Vice President of Giving, Social Innovation and Impact at TOMS, an industry leader in social business. The role was focused on innovation and external and cross-functional partnership efforts for TOMS’ giving team with a special focus on global social innovation and impact. A core component of this role was focused on guiding and building a body of evidence to illuminate the role of all aspects of TOMS Giving Strategy in areas such as health, education, well-being of children and economic impact in the developing world and the United States.
Dr. Shafir is also an Associate Adjunct Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, and former Assistant Vice Chancellor of Research at UCLA. She holds an MPH in infectious diseases from UC Berkeley and a PhD in Epidemiology and a postdoctoral fellowship in Global Health from UCLA.
