Writer, Whistleblower

Renee Cunningham is an LA-based writer who loves exploring stories from untold perspectives. It motivated her to study broadcast journalism, work with under-resourced youths in London, and create a documentary exposing the litter issues in Philadelphia. She received her MFA in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California, where she was the recipient of the 2023 NAACP/Paramount Fellowship. Her pilot, “Whistleblower,” placed as a semi-finalist for Humanitas’ Carol Mendelsohn College Drama Award and earned her the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Writing Award while at USC. Most recently, she was selected as a mentee for the 2024-2025 Mentorship Matters cohort.
