Writer, The Inventrix: Margaret Knight Biopic 

Michael Ann Dobbs has a BFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA in Writing for Children from The New School. In 2022, she received an inaugural Woman in Science Development Fund grant through the Athena Film Festival sponsored by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation to write the screenplay, The Inventrix. In 2024 she was selected as a participant in The Athena Film Festival Writers Lab to continue the project and in 2025 received the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship.
Born and raised in southern Arizona, she lives in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter.
