Katherine Burns is a screenwriter, director, and producer in the last year of her Film MFA at Columbia. After seeing a video of Neil DeGrasse Tyson as a child, she initially hoped to become an astrophysicist before deciding to explore the boundaries of the known world through theater and film instead. She received her BFA in acting at NYU Tisch, and while performing began working in production. She now works as a development associate at Jean Doumanian Productions. Beyond her screenwriting projects, she is currently in post-production on two shorts, one narrative and one documentary.
