Video Journalist, Howtown

Joss Fong is co-founder of Howtown, an independent video outlet focused on scientific literacy. She was a founding member of Vox’s video team, where she spent 9 years developing and refining the explainer format that attracted 11 milliion YouTube subscribers, leading to shows on Netflix, HBO, and YouTube Originals. Her work has been recognized by the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism awards, the Online Journalism Awards, and the ICFJ Knight Awards. She holds a master’s degree in science reporting from NYU and lives in New York City.
