Professor

Professor Saltzberg is a particle physicist who conducts experiments at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva. At UCLA, he teaches a variety of courses: introductory undergraduate physics and astronomy, practical electronics for majors, and advanced graduate courses. When not in the lab/teaching, he consults on the scientific content of TV and film, which has included The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Manhattan, The Leftovers, Scijinks, Watchmen, and Oppenheimer. He is fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He was awarded the Antarctic Service Medal by the National Science Foundation. Asteroid “8628 Davidsaltzberg” is named after him.
