Synopsis:
Based on a true story, follows a teacher in a Mexican border town full of neglect, corruption, and violence, as he tries a radical new method to unlock their students’ curiosity, potential – and maybe even their genius.
Christopher Zalla is a writer-director whose first feature, Sangre de Mi Sangre (originally Padre Nuestro), won the 2007 Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. He has directed network television (Law & Order, SVU, Criminal Intent) and taught at Columbia University’s Graduate Film School. He was born in Kisumu, Kenya, and has resided in Guatemala with his family since 2015.
