Museum of the Moving Image’s mission is to advance the understanding, enjoyment, and appreciation of the art, history, technique, and technology of film, television, and digital media. We fulfill this mission by presenting exhibitions, education programs, screenings, and events.

Our Sloan Science & Film initiative examines the intersection of science and cinema through weekly articles and interviews published online at scienceandfilm.org, cataloguing all 750+ Sloan-winning film projects and filmmakers and creating accompanying educational guides, curating the film series Science on Screen, and directly supporting filmmakers through administering the $20,000 Sloan Student Grand Jury and Discovery Prizes.
