The Independent Media Initiative (IMI) supports online content creators who share
educational content on platforms such as YouTube, podcasts, and TikTok. Through a
combination of direct support, mentored fellowships, and community-building programs we will create an ecosystem of independent media creators with the vision and skills to produce
high-quality and engaging educational content for the public good. Public investment in media brought Fred Rogers, Julia Child, and Big Bird to the world in the 20th century. Our goal at IMI is to bring that tradition into the 21st century and beyond.
