
Writer, Suna
Lara is a screenwriter and playwright based in Detroit. She is a 2024 Grand Prize Winner of the ABC Signature (now 20th Television) Playwrights Initiative and is working with them to develop a pilot for a global health procedural. Her screenplay Suna was awarded a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and was a Big Break Quarterfinalist. Her play Catch was awarded the Mary Marlin Playwriting Award, was a Jane Chambers Award for Feminist Playwriting honorable mention, and a semi-finalist with the O’Neil. Her short plays have been awarded the John Couble One Act Award and the Bartell Theatre awards for best script and best short. She is married to a pharmaceutical chemist and is mom to a dramatic 3-year-old and a 7-week-old. MFA from CMU, MSc from UCSF.
