Writer/Producer, Copycats

Mattan is a cell biologist turned award-winning filmmaker. Graduating from NYU Tisch’s MFA program, Mattan garnered two Sloan awards for Copycats and Rosa’s War. Mattan was raised in an Orthodox Jewish home and a community mired with teen suicides, sparking his interest in characters that overcome personal, romantic or family trauma. Mattan specializes in thrillers with science fiction, horror, family drama, and espionage elements. Mattan’s short films won Best of Fest awards at Beverly Hills Arthouse, LA Shorts, and Blackbird. Mattan works in Los Angeles as an advertising executive. He is attached to an espionage-thriller series that is in development.
