Writer/Director, Holdfast

Matthew Johnson is an independent filmmaker based in Los Angeles and Washington D.C. Prior to filmmaking, he worked for 14-years as a journalist, photographer, and digital storyteller for Congressional Quarterly and the Urban Institute, a non-partisan social policy research organization. In 2013, he graduated from George Washington University’s Institute for Documentary Filmmaking and is now finishing UCLA’s narrative film directing MFA program.
