Synopsis
The year is 1966. Superstar physicist Leon Bloom hasn’t published since the death of his wife nearly two years ago. So, when he’s recruited to join JASON—a top-secret group of a super-scientists akin to the Manhattan Project—he finds that even though he’s opposed to the war in Vietnam, he can’t resist the chance for a fresh start. Bloom meets the team at Jason Headquarters in California and gets a debriefing on their mission to develop technical solutions to the war. But despite being surrounded by the some of the best and brightest in his field, it isn’t until he links up with Julie Nevada, a bartender at a local go-go club, that things start to click again. Over the course of a late night together, Bloom discovers that Julie is connected to the left-wing anti-Vietnam underground, and he soon finds himself straddling two very different worlds.
