Director/Writer, Sweet Potatoes

Rommel Villa is a Student-Academy-Award-winning filmmaker born and raised in Bolivia. Winner of the Lionsgate-Televisa Grant for Latinx filmmakers, Rommel got an MFA in Film and TV Production at USC where he received prestigious filmmaking grants that funded his films. One of them was for Teddy Mate, a magical-realistic LGBTQ+ story, and another one was Sweet Potatoes, funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
